Brick&Putt is a collection of putting games played on its own course design. These games are diverse and accommodate a wide range of participants and skill levels. All games have been created to challenge a players putting skills and strategic approach.
Its simple,the more Brick you play the better putter you become!
CALL YOUR SCORE
A game that seems to be played on a regular basis, both in tournaments and at home is “Call your Score”. This game is interesting because each player/team must call out the total score they expect to obtain after all balls are putted without going over. The player/team that comes closer to their called score wins.
In this game it is important to win the lag. This gives you the option of putting first or last, and calling your score first or last. In most games its better to go last. This gives you a chance to disrupt the opposing player’s/team’s score by knocking their ball into a different point zone, or off the course.
Hint: One mistake new players/teams seem to make is that they tend to call too high of a score. For instance, lets say you called 30 points and I called 18. Now you have 6 balls to try and get close to 30 points. But, since we alternate putts I will do my best to block the holes while trying to get close to my called score of 18. There is less room for error when a high score is called. However, if you are a skilled putter, the higher score will ensure the win.

Your BrickandPutt course just arrived in the mail, you set it up in the family room, you take out all the balls, you download both Rulebooks, which game do you play? It could be a bit overwhelming with so many options.
Always start with the game of BrickandPutt. This is the first game illustrated in volume 1. Once you understand that game, all other games will be easy to pick up, as the majority of the games are based on that game’s format. Fore instance, most of the games use 12 balls, with players alternating putts, leaving all balls on the course before scores are tallied.
The top games that me and my friends usually play are… Moneyball, Defender, Zerow, Call Your Score, Contact, Lyres Brick, Subtractor, Two Ball, and Touch. I could keep going, but will stop there.

If you live or visit Santa Rosa, situated in the heart of Sonoma County, you will find an awesome Brew Pub with a BrickandPutt course. The SweetSpot Pub and Grill is located on 619 Fourth Street in Santa Rosa, CA. The place features Lagunits Beer, and the menu has a Belizean influence, with beer battered fish and chips and fish tacos. You can always catch a game as they have multiple flat screens scattered around the bar. You will not be bored as the place has both a BrickandPutt course and a shuffleboard table. Why Brick&Putt for the name.? Yep, a question that’s been asked before. A “brick” is a fairly common term used to describe an ugly free throw, in basketball. However, a brick can apply to any sport. Hence, a putt. We welcome all attempts. So Bricks Ahoy!
People ask me all the time “which game do you like best”? Although I really don’t have a clear favorite right now, lately my go to game is Money Ball. It always comes down to one putt in order to qualify for points and the win. That one putt is your Money Ball. So when I square up against an opponent , I try to make sure to win the lag. That way I can I can opt to go second in the order of play. Because in Money Ball, having the last putt puts you in the driver’s seat.
Money Ball
Object: The object of Money Ball is to land the Money Ball closest to the back edge of the course, and to be the first player/team to score 25 points or higher.
Competition: Money Ball can be played either one-on-one or with teams.
Format: A total of twelve balls are used for each round and must be evenly divided among all players/teams. Each player/team must alternate putts leaving all balls on the course.
To begin play: Each player/team alternates putts until all twelve balls are putted. Each player/team has one Money Ball. The Money Ball should be a different color making it easy to identify. Players/teams may choose to putt the Money Ball any time during the round.
Scoring: Only one player/team can qualify for points after a round is complete. The only player/team that has their Money Ball closest to the back edge gets to tally their score. The Money Ball will not count for points. A winner is determined by the first player/team to reach 25 points or higher after a round is complete.
Scores will not be tallied if the following occurs:
• Money Ball does not land at least halfway over the minimum distance line.
• Money Ball lands off the course or in one of the holes.
The player/team that scores without reaching 25 points or higher starts the new round.
Penalties: Once the Money Ball is played, any remaining balls from that player/team must be putted past the minimum distance line in order to qualify for points.
In the illustration below Black plays Blue. Black has a pink Money Ball. Blue has a yellow Money Ball. All 12 balls have been putted. Only Blue can score since its Money Ball is closer to the back edge than Blacks Money Ball. Blues starts the next round with 17 points.
This year was my first time attending the maker Faire. It was even better than expected. We were surrounded by so much cool gadgetry and innovative thought and expression.
